We believe our products are safe when used as intended; however, to be compliant with California law, our company, along with many other major manufacturers, places CA Prop 65 Warning labels on products that are being shipped to California.
About Prop 65
California's Proposition 65 entitles California consumers to special warnings for products that contain chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Consumers must be notified if the products contain any of these chemicals above certain threshold levels. The wording of the label, specified by California law, is: "CA Prop 65 Warning: This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm."
There are currently more than 900 chemicals listed under Prop 65, with many new chemicals added every year. The current list of Prop 65 chemicals can be found on the website below.
Does this law apply everywhere?
The Prop 65 warnings are only required under California law.
Should I be concerned?
You should always pay attention to all product warnings to make informed buying decisions. Prop 65 standards are among the most stringent standards in place anywhere and are often far more stringent than federal standards. A Prop 65 warning does not necessarily mean a product is in violation of any product safety standards or requirements, nor does it necessarily mean that the product will actually cause cancer or other reproductive harm when the product is used in its typical way.
What product testing and safety measures does Flying Circle utilize?
Since the day we made our first bag, Flying Circle has focused on creating, developing, and producing quality products for our customers. In the factory, our staff monitors every element of production, from the time components are purchased to the inspection of the finished product. Every shipment arriving at our warehouse is also inspected to make sure everything is just right. Testing on our products is done by a CPSIA accredited third party lab to ensure compliance with U.S. health & safety regulations.
